BSB: Honda duo head to Knockhill after Snetterton boost

Honda Racing duo Jason O’Halloran and Dan Linfoot were able to make an impression on the timesheets in testing after finding improved feeling with the CBR1000RR Fireblade at Snetterton.

O’Halloran’s time in the final session placed him third in the overall classification after a dramatic improvement in engine braking saw a significant step forward for the Aussie.

“It’s been a good test for us,” he said. “We’ve worked quite hard with the forks and engine braking, as soon as we put new tyres in for Thursday’s second session we went straight to the top and were only dropped by Leon [Haslam]. We maybe even went too far with the engine braking as I tucked the front a few times on my fast lap as it felt the throttle was still on, but that’s testing!

“It’s a shame we didn’t get out on new tyres again as we tried some new forks from Ohlins and I’m fairly confident we could have been quite a bit faster. What we’ve found here will massively help us at Knockhill and beyond.”

Dan Linfoot had topped the morning’s opening session with a time that placed him sixth fastest overall, but was unable to further improve this in his final outing after a mid-session suspension change.
