BSB: Disaster for Haslam at Cadwell test

1 of 1

After a tough weekend last time out at Snetterton, Leon Haslam had been hoping to for a productive day’s testing at Cadwell Park on Tuesday.

However, disaster struck for the JG Speedfit Kawasaki star after his ZX-10RR cut out on him in the morning session after just a handful of laps, putting him on the sidelines until after lunch.

Heading back out in the afternoon, things wouldn’t go to plan when yet another technical issue, believed to have been a problem with the engine, brought his day to an early end shortly after the one-hour lunch break.

“It’s frustrating,” Haslam told MCN at Cadwell. “We’ve been desperate for a test, we missed the Snetterton test with a technical problem and now this so we’ve only done one day of testing since Donington Park at the start of the year.

“I feel good in myself, I’ve only done 20 laps today and went straight into 1’27s on the hard tyre. Lap times aren’t the issue for me, it’s the lack of testing time. There are so many things I want to try and get through and we’ve come across a couple of issues today that have put us out for a whole day.

“Brands and Thruxton are the races that I need to be racking up podium credits and right now we’re having a lot of issues that are hindering us. When things are right, we know we can win.”
