1 of 1

Kawasaki wildcard rider Akira Yanagawa is due out of hospital in Spain this weekend following his first lap crash at the Spanish MotoGP round on June 15.

Yanagawa has been diagnosed with two compressed vertebrae and ligament damage in his neck, having been the victim of an incident involving team-mate Andrew Pitt and Proton KR rider Jeremy McWilliams just 30 seconds into the race.

Pitt and McWilliams escaped injury but Yanagawa was transported to the local Granollers hospital complaining of breathing difficulties. He will require an immobilising corset to be able to fly home to Japan on Sunday.
