Ducati stays on at Jerez

1 of 1

Ducati MotoGP riders Troy Baylis and Loris Capirossi stayed behind after Sunday’s race in Jerez to give their Desmosedici V4s a full workout in a private test session at the Spanish circuit yesterday.

Checking the reliability of the bikes was the main aim of the test but both riders tried out various suspension settings and went through a wide range of front tyre compounds.

Bayliss completed 85 laps, including a full race simulation, to see how well the bike’s components held up in the blistering heat.

Capirossi put in 50 laps but his arm injury from the weekend’s crashes meant that he wasn’t on top form.

He said: ” My arm is at 70 per cent but I still managed a good pace. The heat was unbearable but everything worked out well. ”
