Kato tribute planned for Motegi GP

1 of 1

Fausto Gresini, the former team boss of the late Daijiro Katoh, has announced he will invite 1000 people to a special ceremony in honour of the rider at the Pacific GP at Motegi on October 5.

The tribute will take place in the main stand just before the GP, with participants contributing to a huge mosaic in honour of the Japanese star, who died in a racing accident earlier this year whilst racing for Gresini’s Telefonica Movistar Honda team(see link on left). Each fan will be given a section of the mosaic to display at the correct time to create the whole picture.

Many of those involved will be children taking part in the Daijiro Cup, a pocketbike series set up by the rider before his death. The remaining places will be available on Kato’s official website, www.daijiro.net from Saturday, September 6.
