Rossi tops first practice

Valentino Rossi is fastest after the first practice session for the German MotoGP round on Sunday July 18.

First qualifying starts around 1pm UK time. Expect updates shortly.

The Italian lapped the Sachsenring in a time of 1:24.282 on Friday morning. His closest challenger was Kenny Roberts. The fastest Honda was Nicky Hayden in third place.

In the 125cc session, Andrea Dovizioso has gone fastest, followed by German GP regular Steve Jenkner.
