Kurtis Roberts to AMA

Kurtis Roberts has accepted an offer to ride in the 2005 AMA Superbike Championship just minutes before a soft deadline for new riders.

Roberts will ride a Honda CBR1000RR for the Erion Honda team, with a CBR600RR Formula Extreme ride for the Daytona 200. This move rules him out of the running for the two vacant MotoGP Team KR places, the team run by his father, Kenny Roberts Sr.

Riders who are in contention for the MotoGP places include Jeremy McWilliams and Gregorio Lavilla.
