New sponsor for Davies

British 250cc Grand Prix rider Chaz Davies has signed up for an innovative new sponsorship deal with insurance firm BikerPlan.

The Bikerplan policy covers riders in the event they lose their licence because of speeding offences captured by speed cameras. For an annual free of £50, funds up to £6000 are provided for alternative transport during the ban.

And now Davies will receive £3 from every policy sold.

“It seemed appropriate to put some money back into a good cause,” said Bikerplan’s Stuart Allen. “Chaz has real world class potential and needs the financial support to help him compete.”

Davies has been impressive in pre-season testing (see link, right), and will test again at Catalunya this week.
