Rossi tests Maserati GT

Rossi has added yet another choice of career for when his contract ends at the end of this year, testing an Italian GT championship Maserati MC12 at Misano.

Rossi has already tested Ferrari F1 and Subaru World Rally championship cars on numerous occasions but now the Italian MotoGP world champion has expanded his possibilities to include GT racing.

It is reported that after just 15 laps in the car Rossi was well on the pace with a 1:27 lap, just tenths of a second off the cars regular driver Marco Cioci.

The fastest lap in the 2005 race was 1:30.487.

Rossi’s test was unplanned and he said it was just his passion for cars that made want to drive. He requested that no photos were taken.
