Valentino Rossi has revitalised his championship chances with a win at Mugello for the Italian GP.

Rossi overtook polesitter Sete Gibernau early in the first lap but had to battle the Spaniard, Marco Melandri, and Loris Capirossi until breaking from the chasing pack on lap 21. Capirossi made up ground after a bad start to finish second at the flag, with Nicky Hayden finishing third.

Dani Pedrosa captured a strong fourth ahead of Gibernau and Melandri, while Casey Stoner suffered a huge highside while battling for the lead. To see the full results list, click here.
