"Casey has best chance"

Shock Valencia GP winner Troy Bayliss reckons Ducati has given fellow Aussie Casey Stoner the chance of a lifetime to be a big success in the MotoGP world championship.

“I think it is the best opportunity he is ever going to get. And if he plays his cards right and really believes in Ducati, takes those guys on board and becomes part of the family, he can have a great future,” said Bayliss

Valentino Rossi’s legendary Australian crew chief Jerry Burgess has also backed Stoner to be a success on the new GP7 next season.

Burgess is a big fan of Stoner’s and he’s even hinted at wanting to work with the 21-year-old in the future.

Burgess said: “Casey really needs stability at one team. It depends on what he takes out of this and works with over the winter.

“To see Casey making a mistake late in the race like he did in Valencia, he’s got a bit to learn but with stability at Ducati it could be good for him.

“I said to some of the Ducati guys I hope you’re not pulling too many of them out of the gravel trap next year. One thing that seems a bit obvious is that he is not strong enough and I think he’s been a bit reluctant to work on that and perhaps he hasn’t realised how he’s got to work on that side.” added Burgess.
