Pedrosa stays silent

1 of 1

Dani Pedrosa did little to defuse his frosty relationship with the Spanish and world media in Valencia as he refused to speak on both days at last week’s big MotoGP test.
Despite finishing fastest with a brilliant second outing on Honda’s new 800, the 20-year-old couldn’t be coaxed into breaking his vow of silence.

Obviously preferring to let his riding do the talking, Pedrosa served early warning that he aims to defeat both Rossi and Hayden in the new 800 era.
His best lap of 1.32.66 was a massive 0.7s faster than his best Valencia GP race lap. His time was clocked on race rubber too, as he tried a soft Michelin qualifying tyre on the final day but lapped 0.2s slower than his best on race rubber.
