Brno MotoGP: Lorenzo tests Yamaha MotoGP bike

MCN can reveal Jorge Lorenzo tested Yamaha’s factory YZR-M1 during the summer break at the Almeria circuit.

The reigning world 250 champion, whose move to Yamaha in MotoGP for 2008 was confirmed last month after the American GP in Laguna Seca, completed a handful laps at the Spanish circuit on August 8.

It is also hotly-rumoured that he could test an M1 again after this weekend’s Czech Republic GP in Brno, with his Fortuna Aprilia squad giving him permission to test for Yamaha before the end of the season.

Lorenzo tested at Almeria to check on riding position and claims he only completed “four or five laps.” The test was planned by Michelin, and Australian test rider Andrew Pitt was also in attendance, though Lorenzo only rode for one of the five days.
