Jacque sits out day two

French rider Olivier Jacque will try and return to action tomorrow (Thursday) in Qatar having decided to sit out day two of the IRTA test in Doha.

Circuit doctors cleared Jacque to ride following a check-up this morning after he suffered concussion and multiple bruising in a massive crash late on the first day.

The factory Kawasaki rider though opted to sit out today’s action with left ankle and shoulder bruising the worst of his injuries in the crash at Turn 2.

Jacque needed hospital treatment last night in Doha after he suffered concussion in the spill on a first day dominated by factory Yamaha duo Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.

A Kawasaki spokesman said: “He wanted to ride and the doctors said he could, but they also advised him to take a rest today because it was a big crash.

“He did comeback on his own to the garage after the crash but he couldn’t remember anything and he didn’t know where he was.

“He will try and ride tomorrow.”
