Checa and Guintoli crash

Carlos Checa and Sylvain Guintoli both escaped injury after crashing out at the opening day of testing in Sepang as the MotoGP grid returned to the track after a seven-week lay-off.

Checa crashed shortly before 1pm local time when he lost the front of his LCR Honda RC212V at the first corner while he was trying out a new front geometry setting.

French rider Guintoli, preparing for his rookie campaign in the premier class with the Tech 3 squad, crashed shortly afterwards.

He also lost the front on his Yamaha at turn eight.

Red flags came out for both crashes but neither rider suffered injury.
