Kawasaki will field Roger Lee Hayden on a factory ZXRR in next month’s American MotoGP race in Laguna Seca.

Roger Lee is the younger brother of reigning MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden and the Laguna Seca clash on July 22 will be his first ever premier class outing.

MCN can also reveal the 24-year-old, who rides for Kawasaki in the American championship, may also get a chance to contest a European MotoGP race later in the season, according to Kawasaki bosses.

Hayden could possibly ride in the season’s final race in Valencia in early November.

Roger Lee’s appearance in the Laguna Seca clash will see him join Nicky Hayden, who has won both races at the Californian track since MotoGP returned to America in 2005.

A second American GP will join Laguna Seca on the 2008 world championship calendar.

Indianapolis is soon to be officially announced on next year’s schedule, with the race expected to take place in September.

Dorna boss Carmelo Ezpeleta told MCN on Friday at the British GP: “We are almost finished. We need to finish some details but in a few weeks we will have some news about that.”
