MotoGP: Danny Webb braving pain in Jerez

British teenager Danny Webb braved the pain of torn ligaments in his right shoulder to continue his 2008 125GP preparations in Jerez yesterday.

Just days after injuring his shoulder in a high-side crash at the Valencia circuit, Webb was given the all clear to return to action for the first of the three-day 125 and 250 IRTA test session in Jerez.

He posted the 24th best time on the first day, which was delayed after heavy rain that had disrupted the earlier MotoGP test struck again.

“It was a good day because I wasn’t expecting to be able to ride. It wasn’t so bad in the beginning. But later in the session I felt more pain, especially when I hit the brakes. I stopped before the session was over because I don’t want to force it and I want to be completely fit for the first race in Qatar,” said Webb.
