Jerez MotoGP: Mika Kallio wins 250 Jerez GP in last lap drama

Mika Kalllio has had the luckiest GP win of his career, being handed 25 points after Marco Simoncelli took leader Alvaro Bautista out on the final lap.

Simoncelli and Bautista battled at the front for the entire race, clearing off from the word go to dominate at the front.

The pair frequently swapped for the lead during the race, with a mouth-watering prospect for final lap action.

But mid-way round the last lap, Simoncelli got too close to Bautista, running into his rear tyre and taking the pair out.

Works KTM rider Mika Kallio was circulating in third until the leaders went down, handing him the win.

Mattia Pasini finished second to keep him at the top of the 250cc championship table.
