Valencia MotoGP: Smith fourth, Corsi wins in Valencia 125GP

Bradley Smith narrowly missed out on a podium finish in the final round of the 125GP championship in Valencia with Simone Corsi taking the win.

Smith started from fifth on the grid but slipped back to eighth by the end of lap 3.

He worked his way back up through the field and took advantage of the fight between Nicolas Terol and Sandro Cortesi to slip up to third with six laps to go.

It looked like he’d used up his tyres in the dash through the field though as he ran wide two laps later letting Terol back through forcing him to settle for fourth at the line.

The dice for the lead was constantly between Mike DiMeglio, Simone Corsi and Nicolas Terol with 1st place swapping constantly between Dimeglio and Terol.

But Di Meglio had a big front end slide with two laps to go and slipped to third leaving the Jack and Jones team mates Corsi and Terol to take the first two spots on the podium.

Brit Scott Reading had a race long fight with Tommy Koyama for seventh place but eventually lost out to the KTM rider on the line. Danny Webb crashed out from the back of the field with 18 laps to go.
