Motegi MotoGP: Loris Capirossi determined to bounce back

Twin Ring Motegi specialist Loris Capirossi is determined to forget a disastrous start to the 2009 campaign in this weekend’s Japanese MotoGP clash.

The veteran Italian crashed out of the top six in the season’s opening race in Qatar earlier this month, ruining a stunning pre-season campaign on the new factory Suzuki GSV-R.

The triple world champion though is confident he will be able to quickly forget his Qatar disappointment at the Twin Ring Motegi.

The Japanese venue is Capirossi’s best having claimed five podium finishes, including three successive victories between 2005 and ’07. He’s also claimed three pole positions.

Capirossi said: “The days after Qatar have been really bad, because we expected a lot in that race. We did all the winter tests quite good and we come out from Qatar with nothing.

“Now I’m concentrated for this race. I really like this track and I have had quite a lot of good races here. My opinion is we are ready to try to fight for a great position.”
