Brno MotoGP test: Mattia Pasini makes Ducati debut

1 of 2

Mattia Pasini has made his debut on the Pramac Ducati GP9 at the Brno MotoGP test session in the Czech Republic this morning.

The 24-year-old, who finished runner-up in yesterday’s 250GP, has completed over 20 laps on Mika Kallio’s bike.

The Italian has clocked a best time of 2.01.397 and is just 1.3s adrift of Scot Honda rider Gabor Talmacsi. Pasini, who has won 10 125 and 250GP victories, could still make a shock MotoGP race debut in 2009.

With Kallio’s bike available for the next two races in Indianapolis and Misano, Pasini might land the ride while the Finn continues to deputise for Aussie Casey Stoner.

Factory Ducati World Superbike rider Michel Fabrizio took Kallio’s place in Brno last weekend, but he retired with a shoulder problem.

Fabrizio is not available for the next two races. Axed Scot Honda rider Yuki Takahashi has also been linked with the vacant Pramac bike.
