Ducati bosses are confident that Finnish rookie Mika Kallio will be able to make a big impression in MotoGP in his rookie campaign.

The former KTM 250GP rider continued his promising pre-season campaign when he finished in the top ten times during last week’s Sepang test session in Malaysia.

The Pramac Ducati rider managed to beat 2006 MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden and nine-times premier class winner Sete Gibernau in the Far East.

And Ducati Corse CEO Claudio Domenicali said he expects an encouraging debut season from Kallio.

“We like Mika and we like the way he rode in the last couple of years in 250. We expect for him to do good.

“The approach he has had so far was very positive with our bike, and also the result at the end of the sessions was good, so we have high expectations for him, “said Domenicali.
