Scott Redding getting comfortable on new Aprilia

Highly-rated Scott Redding believes he is getting more accustomed to the new 2009 Aprilia 125GP machine.

But the Gloucestershire rider has conceded that he needs more time to focus on chassis set-up having again struggled to find a good setting during a three-day test session at the Estoril circuit in Portugal.

Redding, who had a sensational rookie campaign in 2008 by winning the British GP at Donington Park, ended the test with a best time of 1.47.520. That was 1.3s faster than his previous best time despite windy conditions on the final day.

Sporting a striking red dyed haircut in Estoril, the youngest GP winner in history said: “ I am more and more comfortable on the RSA and I am getting better sensations from it.

“We are working very hard to get a good setup for the beginning of the season but we have not got it quite right yet though, but we are getting closer.

“What I most like about the RSA is the low rev power, but what is most difficult for me is to get a good setup on the chassis.

“At the start of these three days in Estoril we had a lot of problems, but as the time passed we found the right solutions and I think that we will go to the IRTA in Jerez in good conditions”.

Redding will be back on track at the Jerez circuit in Spain for a three-day test starting on Wednesday.
