British teenager Danny Webb has landed a top Aprilia deal for next year’s 125GP world championship.

The 18-year-old has signed a deal to join the Jack & Jones Aprilia squad, which has run highly-rated Spaniard Nicolas Terol in 2009.

Terol is moving to the Aspar Aprilia team to partner Oxfordshire rider Bradley Smith next season and Webb signed a deal in the Valencia paddock, despite needing £100,000 of sponsorship to clinch the ride earlier this week.

Earlier this week Webb told MCN: “They are a really great team and I’d love to ride for them. On that bike with their experience I’m sure I could have a real chance of fighting for the championship.”

“Smith’s new deal with the Spanish-based Aspar team is close to being confirmed and could be announced during this weekend’s final race in Valencia.”
