Estoril MotoGP: Moto2 entry list unveiled

1 of 1

The first Moto2 600cc world championship in 2010 could be contested by nearly 40 bikes after the final selection of teams invited into the new series was unveiled in Estoril today.

Teams comprising a total of 39 riders were accepted and a further 10 riders were placed on a reserve list.

Accepted teams now have until November 2 to confirm the names of their riders and to lodge a security deposit with the International Race Teams Association.

Should any of the accepted teams propose riders not acceptable to the selection committee, or if the security deposit is not paid, then consideration will be given to the teams on the reserve list.

American legend Kenny Roberts has been given a slot for a two-rider effort while there was confirmation that the Tech 3, Gresini and Pramac MotoGP teams will also compete.

No team applied to race a two-stroke 250GP machine in 2010, meaning the entire grid will feature tuned Honda CBR600RR production engines that will be made available in March.
