Sepang MotoGP: Stoner wins race, Rossi claims title

Published: 25 October 2009

Ducati Marlboro rider Casey Stoner took the win in a wet Sepang MotoGP battle, but third was enough to secure this year's world title for Valentino Rossi and the Fiat Yamaha team.

Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa took second. Fellow Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo finished 4th despite starting from the back after failing to join the starting grid on time.

Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider James Toseland finished in 15th place.
