British teenager Scott Redding has met the Moto2 team backed by Hollywood star Antonio Banderas about a 2010 ride in the new four-stroke 600cc class.

Redding flew to Spain shortly after returning from the Far East to hold initial discussions with the Promo Racing squad.

The team will be supported by Mask of Zorro star Banderas and has already signed Spaniard Joan Olive.

The Promo Racing project features a chassis designed and built by British specialists Harris Performance, and Redding said: “I’m going just to have a look at the project and see what the interest is. I’m keen to move to Moto2.”

Redding has had a nightmare second season in the 125GP world championship, the only highlight being a brilliant third place in front of his home crowd at the British GP.

Redding though has been badly let by chronic reliability issues with his Blusens Aprilia machine.
