Elena Myers to test factory Suzuki MotoGP bike

Up and coming American racer Elena Myers has been invited to test ride Rizla Suzuki’s factory GSV-R racebike at the end of the Moto GP season.

Myers, 16, was offered the chance after touring the Rizla Suzuki pit garage at Laguna Seca last weekend. If all goes to plan she’ll be testing the bike in Valencia later this year.

Team spokesman Tim Walpole, who had seen Myers ride in the AMA Pro Supersport championship said: “We saw that she was doing quite well over here on her Suzuki.

“So we thought she might like to come by the box and get to meet the guys and have a look at how we do things.”

Myers said: “It blows my mind that people like that are kind of looking at me and the AMA stuff. To get this opportunity is a once in a lifetime kind of thing.”

She was even given a tour of the Rizla Suzuki paddock by Loris Capirossi:

“It was really cool, especially talking to Capirossi. I have a lot of respect for the guy but even more now that I’ve talked to him. I thought he was a really down-to-earth guy. Talking to him was just crazy, to say the least.”
