Tech 3 Moto2 test disrupted by snow in Valencia!

Plans by the French-based Tech 3 squad to get in more crucial development miles on its new Moto2 contender have been badly disrupted by severe weather in Valencia.

The team planned a three-day private session at the Spanish circuit with Italian rider Raffaele de Rosa, while Yuki Takahashi had flown in especially from Japan to make his debut on the new bike.

But bitterly cold temperatures and rain made testing impossible yesterday. And team boss Herve Poncharal has just confirmed that any testing today is unlikely to happen after snow struck the Spanish venue, which traditionally hosts the final round of the world championship.

Forecasts predict improved conditions for tomorrow (Saturday), but any further weather disruption for Tech 3 will be a big blow to its pre-season plans.

The team was planning to test a revised chassis in Valencia after experiencing chatter issues with the first version it tested in Spain prior to Christmas.

If no testing is possible tomorrow then Tech 3 will try again on January 21 with several Moto2 teams planning to test in Jerez.
