Bradley Smith targets 125 success

British teenager Bradley Smith reckons he’s ready and better prepared than ever to mount a serious assault on the world 125GP crown in 2010.

Smith’s Aspar Aprilia squad was unveiled in Spain earlier this week as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for team boss Jorge ‘Aspar’ Martinez.

Smith finished runner-up behind Julian Simon in 2009 but two wins and a series of podium finishes made him Britain’s most successful Grand Prix rider since Barry Sheene.

The Oxfordshire rider will be partnered by Nicolas Terol in 2010 and he said: “As part of a team like this I feel a moral obligation to achieve my objectives and to be challenging at the very top – for Jorge and for Bancaja, who do an incredible job to make sure that we have the best possible material.

“Last year I was in touching distance of the title but I am back stronger than ever and I will be trying everything I can to do it this time. Hopefully I can be fighting for it with Nico.”
