This is the moment Dani Pedrosa’s 2010 world title hopes suffered a painful and fatal blow at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit today.

The 25-year-old crashed on his third lap in free practice and suffered a badly broken left collarbone.

Pedrosa is currently preparing to fly home from Tokyo tonight to undergo surgery in Barcelona after he suffered a three-fragment fracture in his left collarbone.

Pedrosa’s high speed crash now means it is a formality for Jorge Lorenzo to clinch the 2010 MotoGP crown.

He was already 56-points clear of Repsol Honda rider Pedrosa and only needs to claim another 19-points in the next two races to clinch the crown.
