Indy MotoGP: Marquez takes Moto2 win

1 of 1

Suter rider Marc Marquez took advantage of championship leader Stefan Bradls’ poor performance in qualifying to close the gap on Bradl with victory at Indianapolis.

Bradl – who qualified in 22nd – got his head down and improved drastically from yesterday. Bradl rode a brilliant race to finish sixth, only four seconds behind the top five. Bradl’s championship lead over Marquez is now 28 points.

Brit Bradley Smith got the holeshot and lead for the first few laps, but Marquez was too good for the Tech 3 rider. After being pushed down to seventh, Smith regrouped and moved back up to fourth, narrowly missing out on third place.

Fellow Brit Scott Redding rode a good race after qualifying in 11th place. Redding managed to work his way up to the pack battling for the podium, where he enjoyed a battle with Smith, settling for fifth.

Pol Espagaro and Esteve Rabat finished second and third respectively.
