Casey Stoner has praised Marc Marquez and tipped the talented Spaniard to develop into a MotoGP star of the future.

The reigning 125GP world champion won an army of admirers in 2010 and Aussie Stoner is the latest to hail the teenager, who claimed his first Moto2 victory with a brilliant performance during the recent French Grand Prix at Le Mans.

Marquez had failed to score points in the opening three races of 2011 – crashing out of the first two races – but he bounced back superbly to win in impressive fashion in France.

And 2007 MotoGP world champion Stoner said: “I’m most impressed with Marc Marquez. Not only his riding but his personality. He’s quiet and he’s down to earth. He’s not walking around the paddock like he’s the king. He does the best he can on the track every day and I have a lot of respect for him.”
