Aragon MotoGP: Terol cruises to home win

1 of 1

Aspar rider Nicolas Terol eased to his second Moto2 victory of the season from pole position at Aragon today.

Terol got a brilliant start and had gapped the rest of the field by the end of the first lap.

The fight for the final two podium spots went right down to the final lap, with Esteve Rabat, Scott Redding and Pol Espargaro just some of the riders battling for the positions.

Rabat broke the rest of the group and comfortably finished second, leaving Espargaro and Redding to battle it out for third.

Redding got a brilliant start from 13th on the grid and was holding third spot with just two laps left. Espargaro was determined to change that with a pass in to the final corner, but Redding sat the Spaniard straight back up to power through to third as the pair touched.

Just a lap later Espargaro again took the lead and this time managed to hold it to the line to finish third. The result means Redding leads the championship by 20 points.

Takaaki Nakagami looked odds on for a podium finish, but ran wide on to the astro turf before outbraking himself and running off track early on in the race. The Italtrans rider rejoined in 24th and managed to work his way up to 11th.
