Setup woes cost McPhee

Argentina was a difficult weekend for John McPhee with the Scotsman not able to carry forward the momentum of the opening two races. McPhee, riding for Racing Team Germany, finished 15th after a race that saw him in position to challenge for a top ten but a setup mistake cost him any opportunity of scoring more than a single point.

“We had a slight issue with the gearing and we just didn’t have enough speed on the straights,” said McPhee after the race. “The suspension setting wasn’t perfect either so it’s been a tough weekend. We weren’t fast enough to fight for the front positions but finishing 15th at least gives us a point and I’m looking forward to getting back to Europe.”

McPhee is gearing up for the return to Europe and being able to get more time on his Honda Moto3 machine as he continues to learn the nuances of the bike having had almost no testing on the 2015 machine prior to the season opening Qatar Grand Prix.
