Lorenzo smashes lap record at Brno

Jorge Lorenzo laid down a marker to the field by dominating the FP3 session at Brno to smash the lap record and finish over half a second clear of Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Lorenzo, using medium tyres front and rear, looked in unbelievable form this morning but qualifying could be a very different matter.

Andrea Iannone set his time early in the session so in qualifying could have some margin in hand and being able to use the softer Open class tyre should make him a real threat for the front row at leat.

Bradley Smith had another impressive showing and finished fourth in the session but it was a different story for the other Brits with Cal Crutchlow, Scott Redding and Eugene Laverty all having to take part in Q1.
