Marquez: Assen doesn't matter

Marc Marquez said that the effects of the Dutch TT will have no change to his mindset with the five points lost or gained “not changing my life.”

“Second place was okay, after [crashing at] Mugello and Montmelo, and for me this was already a victory,” said Marquez at the pre German Grand Prix press conference. “Now what is true is that for the championship, five points more or less doesn’t matter. It will not change my life. But okay just my question mark was if we are able to do that [cut the corner]. In that last chicane many times, many things have happened. But nobody did that. But now we already know and Valentino teach us again another thing, that he’s really smart no? And we must learn about it.”

Marquez ruled himself out of championship contention after his Catalan crash but has now said that winning races and getting back into the title chase is his target.

“At the moment I want to go race-by-race and I have enough work to think about me and try to do my job,” he said. “Of course now my target is try to win races because we know that the championship is difficult but if you win races then you can gain some points. Just my target is that.”
