Marc Marquez’s domination of the German Grand Prix was maintained today with the reigning world champion taking pole position from Dani Pedrosa. Marquez, who has not been beaten at the Sachsenring since 2010, has been fastest all weekend and took pole by almost three tenths of a second with Jorge Lorenzo third fastest.

Andrea Iannone and Yonny Hernandez took advantage of the softer tyre to outpace Valentino Rossi with the Italian almost nine tenths of a second slower than Marquez.

Bradley Smith was ninth fastest with Cal Crutchlow tenth fastest.
