Kent leads the way after day one

Danny Kent left it late to lead the way in Montmelo but the Englishman ended the opening day of Moto3 practice fractionally ahead of Niccolo Antonelli with Tonucci and Loi all within a tenth of a second of the pace setting Englishman.

Having lurked within the top five for most of the session Kent set his fastest time on his last lap of the day and once again he pressed his dominance of the class onto his rivals. Kent’s form so far in 2015 has been hugely impressive and his speed today is another ominous warning to the rest of the class.

John McPhee ended the day 18th fastest and 0.75s slower than Kent with the top 22 all within a second of the Leopard racing rider.
