Marquez fastest in final practice

The final free practice session of the weekend is a crucial 30 minute session that gives the best indicator of what to expect over the course of the weekend. No longer bound by a need to finish inside the top ten to ensure a spot in the final 15 minute qualifying shootout riders can focus on race pace and concentrate on finding a good rhythm.

Marc Marquez set the fastest time but the consistency of Jorge Lorenzo stood out in FP4. At the moment it would look like the two will be the fastest riders in race conditions but with Valentino Rossi second fastest, and having topped the times twice this weekend, he can’t be discounted.

Cal Crutchlow was fifth fastest, Bradley Smith was eighth fastest and Scott Redding ended the session 11th quickest. Eugene Laverty was once again the top Open Honda rider but was some way behind Stefan Bradl in the Open class fight.
