Yamaha lay down a morning marker

1 of 1

Yamaha laid down an ominous marker in the critical FP3 session with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo topping the timesheets ahead of the Ducati’s of Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso. Having seen Honda set the pace on Friday this was a crucial session for Yamaha to find their single lap pace and with Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez three tenths of a second off the pace qualifying now looks very different to what had been expected.

Bradley Smith and Cal Crutchlow both made it automatically through to the QP2 shootout however Scott Redding will have to navigate the opening qualifying session this afternoon alongside Aleix Espargaro.
