Aprilia officially unveiled their 2015 MotoGP bike today in Italy with Alvaro Bautista and Marco Melandri on hand to pull the covers back on the RS-GP that marks the Italian manufacturers official return to the premier class.

Testing has been difficult for the team with mixed results for both riders but Bautista has adapted well to the bike and shown a new lease on life when talking about the project at both Sepang tests. On the other side of the garage Melandri has struggled and finished slowest of all regular riders at both tests.

Bautista has said the bike is well balanced but having updated last year’s ART machine the team are aware that finding a way to get the most out of the Bridgestone tyres and developing their own electronic software strategies will be the priority for the beginning of this year.

The challenge for Aprilia will be to make sure that both riders are able to get up to speed as soon as possible with the season opening Qatar Grand Prix just three weeks away. The final test of the pre-season will take place in Qatar starting on March 14.
