Iannone dislocates shoulder, still aiming for Le Mans

Andrea Iannone ended two days of testing at Mugello in hospital after a high speed crash at the Arrabbiata corners left the Italian nursing a dislocated left shoulder. Iannone, who has enjoyed a solid start to the season, crashed having set fast times throughout the test that has seen Ducati share the Italian track with Aprilia.

“It was for sure an interesting test, because testing before a race is always useful, and we were able to evaluate some solutions that during the GPs we find it difficult to do. In the end it was a useful two-day test and I am happy with how I was doing, even though unfortunately today at the end of the session I crashed at Arrabbiata 2 and banged my left shoulder pretty hard. In any case I’m satisfied with the way we are working, especially because the bike is still new and so we need to try different solutions in order to find the best set-up.”

Ducati have confirmed that Iannone will continue treatment throughout the week with the aim of ensuring that he is fit enough to race at this weekend’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
