Jorge Lorenzo has won the 2015 MotoGP World Championship, after securing victory in the best possible way – taking a thrilling race win at Valencia from Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.

Making the most of both his pole position and his trademark early lap pace, the now-triple champion was able to bridge away at the start of the race, leaving the Repsol Honda duo to chase him down.

But even with the pair able to hunt him down, he was able to maintain his lead, giving him the title win over Valentino Rossi by a mere five points at the end.

Rossi, starting from the back of the grid, rode an incredible race of his own, coming from the back row of the grid to take fourth place – but not close enough to take his tenth title.
