Oliveira win denies Kent the title another week

A sensational Miguel Oliveira win has once again denied Danny Kent the chance to become the first British racer in 38 years to lift a world title, with a last lap moment in an otherwise careful race from the Wiltshire rider leaving him a single point ahead of the Portuguese rider.

Oliveira rode an intelligent race on the Red Bull Ajo KTM, dicing at the front as he tangled with teammate Brad Binder and the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda of Jorge Navarro right up to the last corner, just sliding past his teammate through turn fifteen for the win.

Kent however rode a cautious race from the line, dropping back as far as sixteenth as he found his feet and slowly picked his way forwards to run as high as the fifth place he needed to secure title victory.

However, despite his caution, getting sat up by Niccolo Antonelli on the final lap was all it took to drop him to the back of the leading group and crossing the line in seventh.
