Kent confirmed at Leopard for 2016 in Moto2

Leopard Racing this morning has confirmed that Danny Kent will remain with the team next year and move to the Moto2 class. The Englishman has had a dominant year in Moto3 with the German squad and will return to the intermediate class for the first time since 2013.

Kent, who raced for Tech3 in the class previously, will be teamed with Miguel Oliviera at the team in what should be a very strong rider lineup.

“I’m really happy to sign for Leopard Racing in 2016 for Moto2,” said Kent. “We have experienced a great season this year so I’m really excited to start our challenge in the intermediate category. A massive thank you to all people in the team for believing in me and I’m pretty sure that we also can have a great season in 2016 together.”

Having had interest from MotoGP teams Kent had the opportunity to move to the premier class but with the offer from Ducati not acceptable for the Englishman it appears that the instability and uncertainty at Aspar has also made staying with a Leopard a more attractive proposition.
