Moto2: Kent steps in to replace injured Schrotter

Danny Kent will return to the Moto2 world championship this weekend, as he replaces the injured Marcel Schrotter at the Dynavolt Intact GP Suter squad for this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix.

It marks Kent’s second return to the middleweight class since he split with the Kiefer Racing squad at the third round of the season, with a similar wildcard at the Italian Grand Prix to replace Iker Lecuona on the Interwetten Kalex.

But despite the long absence from the class, the 2015 Moto3 world champion says he can’t wait to get back on the Suter for the first time since April.

“I’m looking forward to this weekend. First of all I want to say big thank you to the Intact GP team for giving me this great opportunity. I have already worked with some people in the team in the past. Of course we want to have a great result, so I will give 110% from FP1. This year has been a bit strange for me, because obviously I rode the Suter, then switched to Moto3 and then rode the Kalex in Mugello. A lot of changing bikes for me this season. I started the year with Suter and from what I’ve heard they changed some things with the bike. So I’m quite excited to see what is different.”
