Brad Binder has taken an incredible debut win in Jerez from back of the grid, after a penalty from qualifying for an illegal ECU map demoted him from pole position to the very last spot – but didn´t slow him down!

Riding through the incredible battle for second with ease, he left Nicolo Bulega, Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Navarro battling fo the final podium spots – with an incredible last corner move of his own handing the VR46 rookie his debut podium in second.

Jakub Kornfeil had a strong run to fifth ahead of Joan Mir in sixth, while Romano Fenati, Enea Bastianini, Jules Danilo and Phillipp Oettl rounded out the top ten.

Scotsman John McPhee joined a number of title contenders in crashing out, with Jorge Martin Quartararo, Antonelli and Masbou all failing to finish.
