Moto2: Johann Zarco claims second title in stunning style

1 of 1

Johann Zarco has claimed his second Moto2 title in stunning style, taking a dominant win in the Malaysian Grand Prix and becoming the first man in history to win two races in the class in the process.

He was one of three riders to make an early break, in between Franco Morbidelli and wet weather specialist Jonas Folger, and sat comfortably behind the Italian until the closing stages when he put the hammer down and made his escape.

With main rival Thomas Luthi a distant sixth, locked in battle with Lorenzo Baldassarri and home favourite Hafizh Syahrin and with Alex Rins all the way back in 14th, the Frenchman took title success with ease.

It was another bad day for Sam Lowes, crashing out of the top ten in the early stages of the race, while Danny Kent finished in 18th.
