Rossi on his way to TT, sun shining!

Excitement is building on the Isle of Man as TT fans await the arrival of Valentino Rossi. The 8-times world champ was due to arrive on Saturday but postponed his trip because of poor weather. He’s now on his way, with his plane expected to land on the island within the next hour.

His first job will be to start the Superbike race, which looks set to be run in near-perfect conditions – the sun’s shining and there’s only a gentle breeze to disturb the riders. After that, Rossi will be doing a lap of the course on an R1 accompanied by MCN editor Marc Potter.

MCN’s Adam Child, meanwhile, is in the paddock: “The atmosphere here is starting to build as racers prepare to tackle the most demanding circuit in the world. While there’s an obvious buzz regarding the arrival of Rossi, it’s business as usual for most of the teams as they triple check every last detail.” We’ll keep you posted on the racing and Rossi news through-out the day
